Went for breakfast and had egg scramble with egg whites and sweet potatoe hash. It was very good. Scott's breakfast was good but nothing exceptional. Would defiantly go back and would like to stay there. Staff was very helpful and nice. Food was very responsible $20 for 2.

If you go to Fort Scott you must stop here. I can only imagine breakfast is awesome. We had lunch. It was great. Chicken Alfredo. Wow. I would guess the noodles were handmade. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Wonderful food. They were packed full of people so get there before noon.

Great coffee, good breakfast, and very reasonably priced (cheap as hell)

What a great find! Beautiful mansion and excellent food. Husband ordered recommended Bloody Mary and wasn't disappointed. We both ordered sandwiches on the fresh focaccia and had side salads. One house (excellent homemade granola and blue cheese crumbles) and one Caesar both very good. Also ordered root fries on the side -- unique and very tasty. Yummy!

Stayed there last night. For a splurge we did their six course dinner. We requested and they did some changes to the menu. They did them all. I must say, the fillet I had was one of the best steaks I've ever had. (And I frequent places like Gibsons, Mortons and the cap grille). I've definitely had more expensive, but I'd put this food ahead of those three. Service was outstanding, food was awesome. I'd drive back for, KC just for the food. Completely recommend.

The Lyons Twin Mansion Dining gets high marks in food, service and atmosphere. EDIT: The name is now Nate's Place Restaurant & Lounge. Nate's Place is run by Nate Lyons, son of B&B owner Miss Pat. Their waitstaff is well-trained, attentive, and very cordial. The food is prepared fresh daily. Even the mayonnaise and the salsa are homemade using Lyons family recipes. Most dishes are cooked to order, so don't hesitate to ask them to accommodate food allergies or other dietary limitations -- they'll be nice about it. A full bar is available. Bloody Marys are their specialty. The location is an 1870's mansion, an almost mirror image of the B&B located next door. The spacious dining room and adjoining parlor make up the restaurant. Another parlor has been converted to a pub room -- great place to sit if all you want is cup of coffee or a glass of wine. There's limited al fresco seating on the large front porch. Free WiFi is available throughout the mansion which makes it perfect for business luncheons or just catching up on email. Reservations aren't required, but are suggested, epecially for larger groups. Dishes can be prepared to-go by calling ahead. Nate's Place is open 9AM - 2PM Tues-Fri and 8AM - 2PM weekends; they're closed on Mondays. Breakfast is served until 2:00, while lunch is served 11:00 -2:00. There's parking on the street in front and in a private lot in back. UPDATE: Libations in the Library! Nate's now serves beer, wine & cocktails 5-8 PM on Thur & Fri. No food service is available in the evenings, but the Lyons encourage people to do carry-in or call to have a pizza delivered.
